A “RED RAIN DAY”

Week 5 Day 3/3 = (84×7)x(3)=1,764 steps this week

#smilingontheinside – Friday 13 June 2025

This week it feels like it’s done nothing but rain! And then rain some more! And then keep raining!

Yes – there have been some dry spells in that, but not enough to get washing dry on the line. And certainly not enough to get out to my steps and do those and stay dry.

Today I looked ahead in the forecast, saw a two hour window which I could step in, only for the forecast to change. Which meant my plans of staying dry were thwarted.

Looking for Red

On Fridays I take the long way back to the car. This means I have one more ascent than descents. Rather than focus and photograph flowers – which I’ve done before on this route – I opted for all things red.

Getting creative

Rather than just boring ole red photos, I wanted to see how creative I could get. What would my red photos look like if I greyed out the background to accent and highlight the red leaves…?

Then Red Became Yellow

This lemon was just too bright and pretty not to photograph just because it wasn’t red!

A bright orange fruit resting on green grass, with a textured surface and small water droplets.

Fungus

Of course, it’d be very remiss of me to exclude fungus when I notice it – which doesn’t happen very often – as I have a friend who’s just soooo into fungus. So this one’s for her.

My Friday In Pictures

Even though I went out with a ‘red’ intention, other beautiful sights caught my eye… looking up into the trees, for example.

The Weather in My World Today

Here’s to achieving my stepping focus: 3 days of 7 repeats of 84 steps = 1,764 steps climbed…

Here’s to almost looking forward to walking in the rain…

Here’s to self-promises made, kept!
