What Does 84 Steps Look Like In Real Height…?

#smilingontheinside – Monday 19 May 2025

See that plastic shrink-wrapped house in the top left – on the skyline …? That’s how high 84 steps is in real world huffing and puffing terms.

When I get to the top of the steps, this plastic shrink-wrapped house is one section away from the walkway linking Beerescourt Road to Ann Street via the 84 steps I’m climbing.

4 x 84 = 336

Yesterday was my first day in the wild with my new trekking poles and man! what a difference! Last week – because of the pain in my knees – I was using the handrails to pull myself up. But no longer! #smilingontheinside

Yes! My walk yesterday was slower because I was mentally talking myself through the make-sure-you-do-it-right-sequence of right arm, left foot > left arm, right foot. But wow! I actually felt like I could have gone another flight, I felt so good!

But I didn’t – because I wasn’t sure whether I’d be overdoing the upper body workout. I want to make sure I’m still good-to-go for another round on Wednesday.
