A Two Walk Day

This dog arrived by this letterbox maybe a month ago. It just suddenly appeared. One morning walk there was nothing at the letterbox and the next, this statue.

The funniest thing happened on my second walk that made me laugh out loud yesterday.

Two dogs were being taken for a walk by their owner. It was a slow walk because even though they were on leads, they were doing a bit of a wander, sniffing as much as their length of lead would allow. As does wont to do.

And then they saw this statue – man! What a performance! It looked like it was the first time they’d seen it. Or they have short memories, which I don’t think dogs have. But what do I know…?

They barked and barked at this statue. Their owner told them it wasn’t real but they weren’t listening.

I know that’s what she told them, because she told me when I caught up to her and told her how much I enjoyed their antics. We both had a bit of a giggle. #smilingontheinside

Lunch With a Friend

The reason for my two-walk day was because I met a friend for lunch and decided to walk to our meetup. It was only a little over 1km each way.

We both like seafood chowder, which is why we chose the restaurant we did.

However, yesterday it was a bit disappointing. Which was really disappointing because this place usually serves great meals.

The chowder arrived barely warm. I’m sure if Alan had been with me he would’ve asked for it to be heated up. The toast tasted and looked a bit stale. And the chocolate fudge brownie (which we didn’t order but arrived anyway), was very dry.

My foodie friend and I both agreed that we thought the dessert was yesterday’s leftovers.

If you’re going to eat something decadent, you’ve got to make sure you enjoy every mouthful, right…? Hmmmm…. I’m not sure I enjoyed each bite.

However, that aside, we both enjoyed each other’s company even though the quality of the food was a huge disappointment on what we’re used to from this place.

It Happened Again!

I can’t believe it happened again, but it did!

Because the skies were a bit iffy when I left home, I decided to wear my happy raincoat.

Every time I’ve worn it so far, someone comments on how gorgeous it is. Yesterday was no different. At the restaurant a woman came up to me especially to let me know how much she liked my cheerful (her word, not mine) raincoat. #smilingontheiside

Because I’m quite a creature of habit when it comes to to my daily walks with the routes and the timing, it’s not going to take long before there’re no more people left to tell me how much they like my cheerful, happy, raincoat.

Storm Damage

Here in Hamilton we got off very lightly. Sure, it was a bit breezy, but the damage we sustained in the latest storm of no name, was minimal.
