Spider Web Doilies

I felt like a bit of a karate ninja this morning out on my walk – using my arms and hands to clear spiders’ webs and threads as I walked between trees and lampposts or trees and fences – anywhere a spider’s thread could span.

The last thing I wanted to do was walk through a spiders’ web – ugh!

Surprise Pūkeko

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve walked this particular pathway in Donny’s Park – off Perindale off River – yet this was the first time I’ve seen a pūkeko here!

I gave it a wide berth because I wasn’t going to be chased – like I was one evening running around Lake Rotoroa.
